Who Are We?
Our Mission
The mission of the American Silken Windhound Society (ASWS) is to support the Silken Windhound breed in any way that we can. Top on the agenda is to achieve recognition from the American Kennel Club.
We would like to be chosen as the Parent Club by the AKC to help take this wonderful breed forward.
The American Silken Windhound Society
is made up of people who are both new to the breed, and those who have been instrumental in leading the breed for well over two decades. We have nearly two centuries of experience among the Board members, running clubs, owning, breeding and showing dogs, much of that experience in the AKC arena. We are particularly indebted to Frank and Brenda Young for getting us started, and on the right path.
